Ok - set the car up last friday on the rollers for high load work, pulled some really good numbers despite very high air temps:-

165 banana at 8200, 117 curlie wurlies at 6ish. Pulled up to 100lbft at 4 and didn't drop under this till past 8k. Last year same rollers 5 port 1380 ran 103 lb/ft and 129 bhp.

she also passed the mot yesterday - made the mot tester scratch his head - especially when it sits at lambda 1! so fully road legal as well.

Been round to my mappers tonight to sort the part throttle cruise maps, worked really well and the car is grunt with a capital G! pulls from 1k tickover with paddle clutch and silly cams. Wide band lambda is doing its self learning bit so will look at this next week and hard load any adjustemnts into the ecu.

looking forward to seeing some more twinks at Avon and the rest of the turbo crew.

cheers

JK

thanks guys - I was hoping for only 120 lbft or so in defence of the clutch and gearbox! - Jim I think yours will have just a bit more torque than this and probably from 2500/3000rpm!!!

. its NA all the way with this one, I should take another vid really as that one was when it was running on a sport 190 K series map - took at least 20% fuelling out of that map for the high load stuff - no wonder it baulked when you stabbed the throttle from idle! - shes a pussycat now and nice and responsive low down.

I may try my luck at uploading some pics.

looking forward to seeing your 998 go peter sounds very mad max!

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Yes Dave, I face even coming third this year as Gavins Speedster has gained another 14 bananas over last year and matched my 13.4 at Santa Pod.
Ive just taken 23 kilos out of my car though and possibly gained a bit through Swiftys latest exhaust port mods, so we shall see what happens...........Itll be GOOD
Paul

I seriously doubt it!

all good fun - It'll be interesting, its all new and gearing strategy is different from previous years so who knows how it will pan out, if I can mix it with you boys again with a full height mini all will be good!!!! - I'm bringing a magnet as well Paul to see how much steels left in your car - I'm sure it mentions steel in the class regs somewhere!

this has got to be the most competitive "non-competitive" event ever!

cheers JK
