I had, but then thought I can't be arsed with the hassle from the police, I'm trying to get my mits on a set of the yellow an white pressed plates thou for it, should suit it alot better.

Did abit of rust removal/repair today on the rear valance, stonechipped it then gave it 3 coats of top coat, looks a load better but it'll need replacing next time it goes in for bodywork! I'll upload pictures tomorow, left my camera in the bloodey garage an it's way to cold to go and fetch it!

There having a bit of a crack down on them round here at the minute, would have probably been alright if every barry boy in his corsa/saxo didn't have them on.

IT RUNS!!! *happy*

Started it up yesterday and had a little fiddle with the carb to get it idling nicely, then ran it for 20 mins at 3k for the cam. Can't believe how loud it is either! Just got to swap the battery terminals (mine are abit crusty) bleed the clutch and brakes then get it to the rollers to be set up then enjoy it! *happy*

Right, update time..

Did a spot of bodywork on the rear valance to keep me busy, removed the rust off the rear lip, fiberglassed the old exhaust cut out over then filled a few dent's up. The drivers side lip is way to far gone, so I just took it back as far as I dared then gave it a coat of paint and tidied it up

Mounted the exhaust back up with bobbins and the like, sit's alot better then before,

Solved my fuel starvation problem with a new pump, stuck with the spi tank, but fitted it as a suck through, works brilliant

Fired her up this morning no trouble, drove her out onto the driveway once the oil pressure had risen...

Fitted the new stainless bumpers, re-fitted the grille, gave the engine a clean up, then put it back in the garage until tomorrow when she's off to the rollers to be setup properly :)

That's all for now folks!

That is looking really nice!

You should get yourself an intercooler before winding the boost up. It's relatively cheap and easy to do.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

I plan on fitting one in the not to distant future, going to buy another plenum then mod that to accept the cooler. The fueling shouldn't need adjusting should it to suit the cooler? It's not as such a breathing mod, just gets the temp down...

Christ the editing going wrong here!

Right, I would get it set up with the intercooler to ensure that the fueling is absoulutey spot on.

Well I'll more then likely get a 2nd carb to rebuild aswell, so the fueling will need to be setup again, should work out alright i think...

I like it a lot. This is the sort of look I was considering for my car. But I am going a bit more modern now.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

The intercooler lowers the air charge temp, this makes the incoming charge more dense, meaning more fuel is needed to go with it. Just fitting an intercooler will leave you running lean which is not good for the life expectancy of your pistons!

You shouldn't need a double grey unless you're going with silly power. I've got a single grey and my car was 129 bananas and 128 curley wurleys or so at 10 PSi and it still holds just fine at 17 PSi with no slippage.

Just thought I'd update this, Had a fair while driving about now an really enjoing it! Took it to bingley last weekend but it popped the head gasket on the way back, from cylinder 4 to the waterway, AA job but that's all sorted now and it's covered alot of miles again. Was interesting driving back from uni yesterday an back from the girlfriends this morning!

Swapped to the origional rocker cover which looks alot better in my opinion!

This shows how bad the snow was over here yesterday. The car had been stood an hour after my trip back from uni!

Had a bit of a chit few days with it to be honest, the turbo oil feed pipe split again after brazing, and then when I started it up the other day after trying to see if I had solved (read as bodged) the leak I'd left a rag on the slam panel and it destroyed the fan. Hasn't damaged the rad thou so I guess it was a lucky escape. So minispares had yet another order to send this way...

Braided hose is on now and seem's spot on, no leaks etc so it;s all good!

Driving to my sisters thou last night in rush hour traffic, stuck in a single lane sliproad the mini just decided to cut out with no warning. Wouldn't start back up either so I jumped out an shoved it to the side of the road (as far as I could seeing as the hard shoulder was only 3 or so foot wide!)

No spark but the coil still had power either side so I put it down to the ignition module, so a new module and it was spot on again! I swapped the coil just for piece of mind too, seemed daft as all the other ignition parts are brand new.

Thought I'd add a picture of one of my favourite purchases on the car so far. So comfy over the old 2" setup

I got fed up with banging my head on the bonnet eveytime I worked on it too, so I've decided to pop it on bonnet pins. So off it came today, I did abit of weight saving too, who need's strength in the bonnet?!?!

Tucked up for the night until I finish the bonnet pins tomorow!

Thought I'd show off one of my christmas presents! My sister had them made by a local printer, I reaaaally like them. There both of my car too!!

All for now folks......

bummer,

i have had issues with ignition modules in the past, mine seemed to give up in traffic and would start working again when the engine cooled down, i ended up stuffing a 123 dizzy in.

i was thinking about bonets the other day, not looked yet bit is seems to me it should be easu to swap the pivot pins in the bonet hinges for some pins an R clips, pull the pins and lift the bonet away...

also i would stay away from the double grey unless you really need it, in the long run the trusts are likly to thank you!

i have stuck approx 160 brake through an orage plate without slip al beit with a machined bac plate to set the spring to level,

Imo if i had slip on a grey rather tqan using the double i would look at an rts verto, as you have a verto on there any way....
