It is basically to do with the processor speed on the MegaJolt board will not support computing the advance quickly enough at high engine speeds I believe.

Dont think the Megajolt is the problem, its the EDIS unit or the FORD coil that cant cope with it. I have tried investigating a bit on the brent piccasso (sp?) site. |

Its the EDIS that is the problem not the coil pack. I think it is just to do with processing speed of the EDIS, either it can't process the speed of the input from the timing wheel or it can't switch the coli fast enough. Safe to say, whichever it is it is the limiting factor. I have a mate running a it on an Imp engine that pulls over 9000 with no problem. If you want to rev further you will have to ditch the EDIS and choose another ignition system that the MS/MJ offers.

Yep, you can use the V3 MS and run it with just a crank trigger but you'll need to add another coil triggering IC circuit to the unit. On 28th Aug, 2011 Kean said:

thanks, this will not be a problem I guess, as I stopped at around 8500 last summer, but tried 9300 a few times. We will try with MJ and see how it goes, I bet it will be just fine. its for a 1071 BTW |
