looks cool dude. you may have problems with the actuator/air inlet pipe though by not having the top right corner of the bulkhead box cut at an angle...

Regarding space for the air pipe as Bud says.......

You are much better off doing this now believe me, I did that mod on my own car with the engine in, what a ballache.......

there should be enough space as it was already running a turbo when i got it ...... hopefully.
and i just cant bring myself to take the angle grinder to it now its been prepped and painted

as for the 101fc i sold it a few years ago to build the lightweight and have since sold that to get a bigger motorbike and start the mini project. the 101 is in California and the lighty is in hull.

the mini might fare better but i enjoy doing the building then when its finished i want to start something else.

thanks for all the comments

Andy, I was exactly the same as yourself, had made a reasonable job of the paint (not to the same level as you) and didn't want to chop it off. But HONESTLY you will NOT get the air pipe in! I tried loads of different approaches but with the radiator bottom hose, there just IS NOT the room!

Good luck buddy I am sure you will be able to make a good job of it.

dya know - I don't think it was that bad to be honest... You clearly didn't have the box as far over to the master-cyls as you could have had...

Still - it's 100% better now!

I can without a doubt say it wouldn't have worked. If you look at the picture of where my box is situated (side-to-side, use the dimple in the bulkhead as a reference) Andy had his in a similar place, with a similarly shaped "square" bit of bulkhead sticking out.

I have fitted my air pipe today, it was still a squeeze even with the cut I made. I will take a picture at some point showing how tight it is!

Good call Tom.

What we need is a few pictures uploaded that show JUST how tight things are; so others will not struggle and know to do it right first time.

Luckilly Andy is a sensible type who listens to advice, and will be glad he did I suspect.

My old shell started without a bulkhesd box at all. It all squeezed in with a bit of hammering to the crosmember. I eventually put a homemade box in but didn't cu the corner as above. It still all fitted, but was tight. I now have an Avonbar box with fitted as above (ish). so hopefully it'll be less of a squeeze now.

A few shots taken today to show how tight a squeeze it all is, the bottom rad hose makes room for the air pipe tight, and you cannot bend it in a sharp enough radius to make it go up the "side" of the box. It has to sneak up the corner.

Well spotted andy, you are right I haven't got round to blocking that up yet, it is on my list of jobs, the car has no doors bonnet or boot at the moment so the engine is running but has not been driven (or made any boost pressure yet) no not such a calamity!
