but i need to know what everyone in the know thinks about it holding together if i put a steel head gasket on it, the bottom end is very good and the gear box is good.

With 8 PSI a standard turbo type gasket will sufice, provided the head and block surfaces are flat and clean it will hold together.In my experienced opion a 8.5:1compression ratio is a good CR giving you the scope for a little more boost if needed. A turbo Must be set up correctly..run it lean and it WILL detonate and cause damage to pistons/head gasket etc.

For a head gasket that most people i know use, (turbodave, jimster, etc) and thats the payen bk450. It really does the job and holds up to high boost. I think im correct in saying neither jim nor dave has had any failures. |
