Hello,
I have a 1310 w/super charger and EFI. I recently upgraded to an RTS clutch. The holding of the pressure plate is great. However, the pedal needs to be all the way at the floor for the clutch to disengage.
Everything in the clutch circuit is new.

I have heard that the clutch master cylinder on Metro has a smaller bore and on a Verto system this would help with getting the clutch to release sooner (not when the pedal is all the way to the floor)

Would anyone know what years Metro and/or part numbers for this swap? I am assuming mid to late 80's. But not 100% sure

Is there any wear in the clevis pins, pedal or linkage?

Nope. As stated its all new except for the pedal. There was a little wear there. that was re-aligned and fitted with a bronze bushing

Sounds like it needs bleeding properly. Who made the RTS?

A Metro should have a verto, so would not see why it would not be correct.

Pivot arm also needs to be verto from what I recall ( long time ago )

But first question...is it bled properly ?

And a smaller master would move less fluid per foot movement than one with a larger master.

It has been bled multiple times. there is no air in the system. Stuart at Vmaxscart built it up.

The Metros are Verto setups. But from what I have read a Metro Clutch MC has a 9/16" (16mm) bore. The Verto clutch MC for a Mini has a 3/4" (19mm) bore.

Bled properly and bled multiple times.

So does the pedal feel correct ?

Is the actual release arm ( after the pivot ) moving correctly ? And not being hindered by anything ? ie, the big adjustment nut ?

Does it have the correct range of motion ?

You are looking at the parts bin special playing out. The designers kept all the ancillaries the same when the A series for the mini got up issued to the A+. You will probably find that master cylinder is the same part fitted to all minis with that style of master cylinder. Having more is never a bad thing.

Am I missing something, a smaller bore MC will move less fluid into the slave cylinder meaning the pedal will have to be pushed further down. The distance of travel of the slave cylinder is due to the volume of fluid and not its pressure. I take it you are using a Verto cylinder and arm.

No. You are correct.
