Need your lights again...
I need to replace my clutch( original turbo) as it slips and would like to up the boost a little.
Car is a daily driven 1360, kent 266, big valves, running 7/8psi, no idea how much horse it makes as there is no rolling roads where I live but would like to rise the boost to around 12psi.
The car shakes a bit at idle so was thinking my actual fly/clutch may be a bit out of balance.
Problem is I can't have the flywheel/clutch balanced here so was about to order the balanced med st2 fly/clutch that's rated 50% better clamping.
Would this be enough for my setup?
Would love to build an rts, have the bits to make it but wouldn't be able to balance it here (if that matters? )
I could go with a pre verto conversion as well, do those still need balancing? Was thinking of a grey diaphragm but a bit worried as it's a daily town driven...
I'll put the price needed as the car deserves it, just don't want the clutch to slip.
Been searching forum for the past days, just cannot decide what to go for...

i think a fair few people have built the rts without balancing , and got away with it , so it may be worth a try to see how bad it is with normal verto bits , and a stock verto flywheel ?

Thanks for the answer, that's the route I decided to take, your idea was too good not to do it.

And I finally found someone who will be able to check the balance, he's just not too sure how to remove or add metal to balance it if it needs. He was thinking of drilling holes and filling them with tungsten??
He's more used to much heavier /larger parts that are easier to balance.
Just a quick question on rts spacers, is it still best to use machined spacers of the right length or is it ok to add a washer of the second spring thickness on top of the original spacer?
Seen that on a certain YouTube vid and don't know what it's worth.

no idea re washers MM . when i had my ones balanced it usually involved a single drilling a few mm deep at one point , then brought it to balance .not complicated .

removing, or very rarely adding weight would be how to balance.

Some videos on youtube....how valid this sort of static balance is ?? don't know.

Very interesting, thanks for the links.
Looks like the only difficult part is the mandrel, I don't have a crank to sacrifice
