I’m reallynstruggling to find the Turbo Carbs dashpot.

I have a carb setup, but for some reason it seems to have the standard dashpot on without the machined ridge for the clip that holds the top plunger down.

Does anyone happen to have one for sale? *blush*

I wouldn’t worry that much. Loads of folk run without the clamp in fact I’m not certain I’ve ever seen one fitted.
If you are dead set it’s a 5 min job on a lathe to machine a groove in yours.

Cheers Tom, it’s been quite a few years since posting on here, and TS great to see you jumping in with helpful responses, just like I remember in the “good ol days” on here.

In that note, does anyone have the dimensions (I.e. the grove depth, width and a measurement from a datum point on the dash pot?

Help is much appreciated *Yes*

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

As Tom said I wouldn’t even waste your time fitting it. I’d say 99% of folk on here, myself included, have never bothered even fitting the clip.

If you really want the dimensions, I’m sure someone will post them up, if not I’ll do it when I find some parts.

From the top of the dashpot, the groove starts 2.2mm down, it is 2.9mm wide, and a diameter of 26.6mm.

If the dimensions are critical to 0.1mm I would be very surprised.

I’ve never used the clamp either.
Is it there for a purpose other than preventing incorrect filling of oil?

Thanks guys. I get the message loud and clear that it’s not needed. It’s more an aesthetic thing to be honest. Appreciate all the comments *Clapping*

I always thought it was intended to stop boost being able to blow the plastic screw top out the top of the carb. But no one has ever had a problem I've heard of, and that's with folk running a lot more boost than A-R intended.

I always thought the same, but the only time I ever saw anything like this was when Matt Woods had the nitrous back fire.
However I believe the plastic bit stayed on and the damper shot out through the plastic...
