Some probably know me from the mini forum, the full build thread is here:

http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic...ortspack-turbo/

But more to whats been done. Full nut and bolt restoration, with the following mods:

Body/Chassis -
KAD 4 pot callipers 8.4" vented disks, 1144 pads
Superfins
Minispares Adjustable lower arms
Minispares Adjustable tie rods
Minispares hi-los
Protech lowered alloy shocks
Minispares Solid mounted front subframe
13x7 Superlights

Engine - (engineering by Rob Walker)
MPi block bored to +20
21253 pistons with crowns increased to 10cc
Standard A+ rods
Standard crank
Standards flywheel
Bottom end balanced
KAD oil pump
Turbo Phil worked MPi head to 24cc chambers
SC 5 port kit (50mm inlet, D400 ecu, 660cc injectors)
GT1752 turbo
Custom chargecooler set up
Playmini 2" stainless exhaust
DSN upper engine stabilisers
Minispares lower engine stabilisers
Custom inner wing catch can

Drivetrain -
Gearbox rebuilt by Guessworks with windage tray
3.1 FD
4 pin diff (hindight, should have got a LSD)
RTS (Ap 20% and 998 springs)
AP 190mm Rally plate

Interior -
Reupholstered black/nickle interior, door cards and steering wheel
new carpet
Black alcantara headlining with matching sun visors
Remote central locking linked to 5AS
AEM Boost gauge
AEM AFR gauge

The whole idea was to do an OEM-ish exterior with a nice bit of power. The car has recently been mapped for a base map by Chris at EFI-Parts to allow me to run the engine in and get an MOT. For the little RPM i've used so far, it's nippy! Here's some pics!

How it was 18 months ago

and now the shiny pics

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Lake District

The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s one extremely tidy car.

I should really give this an update. A few things have happened - I have learnt that an MOT on a turbo mini isn't as painful as once thought. I have also learnt that turning up the boost with my clutch set up after the MOT causes it to slip... loads.

Full wheel allignment... finally

Tear down of the engine found an oil leak from the primary gear... not surprised really.. its goosed.

Binned it and got a new one from minispares along with the proper seal, rather than the orange one. Got a AP Rally plate

Then sent it all off to Simon to work his magic. AP 20% performance and a 998 spring.

It came back to me via the balancers, then refit. The chargecooler was also sprayed as it looked ropey.

Plumbed it back up enough for it to start and test the clutch. All good, cracked open the beer.

All back together to run it all in, went via my mate's detailing company to pick up supplies

Had a car show on the weekend, so spent needlessly long amount of time cleaning.

Onto the show

Ended up winning pride of ownership. I came 3rd in my year class to a fucking ponsy evo that look like it had ram raided halfords and rat look fiesta... so much for class.. not that i'm bitter or anything *oh well* *happy*

Anyway, was happy to walk away not sunburnt

ta.

Steve, great to meet you on Monday. Your car is even better in reality.

The compare at Weston park clearly didn't know what he was talking about.

Love despite been heavily modified, the engine bay looks factory built.

And you chap! There were a fair few people that had to double take at the engine bay during the day!

Nice car

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!
