My mot tester said one day soon every car will have to be standard to pass a mot like europes rules... i thought na no way! Cant happen! Think of all the business' thatll go under n all the cars thatll be suddenly worthless?!

But then working in a dealership today i heard the same discussion?

Will every car one day soon have to be standard?! I cant think of a more boring life!!!!!

People say a lot of things.

All road cars in Europe are not standard. And Europe is a big place....and falling apart lol.

Hopefully we can kick that particular regulation shortly then! Its been getting tougher for years but were still getting through it. Seem to be far fewer modified cars on the road then 10 years ago (i.e a corsa with silly body kit and exhaust) so maybe that'll help take the heat off. Plus it would destroy the classic car market, but then since when have governments cared about destroying specialist industry and skills.

Europe has a lot of different ruels. In theorie i should be able tot buy a fully modder car from the uk ( pre brexit) and just mot it here. But Belgium forbids them. How ever. If i het the same car and import it to Holland i might get it through mot. If i then import it to Belgium and have allot of time on my hands i het it through mot here. France??? Ik would get it mot there but not get it in your Belgium from france. Here no car can ben legally tuned. Germany allows 15% Finland 20% and so on. United europe and 1 set off rules my ass!!!

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

The wife got my speeding ticket today through the post I'm hoping for the speed awareness course made it an expensive trip to the zoo ....... If they don't get you with an MOT they will get you with a 150% of your weekly wage fine and points


Probably better off on the track certainly more fun for the same price !!

Outside the box

I've been building a car for 23 years, Im hoping it'll be on the road next year for my 40th birthday. I have fears at times that it'll get outlawed before I even finish.
