Hi

So what antifreeze should you use if you have a alloy rad?

Normal blue stuff or something else?

Thanks
Josh

either or.....in the case of a Mini it'd be more important to use stuff suitable for the iron block/head

It's a trade off between how much aluminium based components you've added which see coolant and how much iron and a few other relevant metals and materials are in the mix.

Some good points here,

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Northamptonshire.

You can use G12++/G13 antifreeze. its got a 5 year lifespan and will work with a mixed metals system, mixed at 50/50 with deionised water it be fine in the system.

id recommend using comma G40/GG40 (its the spec above just labeled differently) as its the most consisted mix I've brought and who i work for buys this stuff at 500L a time.
