Ive always had slight witness marks on my pushrods where they are contacting the block, have any of you lot ever opened them up a touch for clearance? I seriously doubt it! |

I had a chat about this with my engine builder. (Builds miglia and historic engines) He used to try to use custom push rods or open the holes up, but it ended up being more trouble than it was worth according to him. My engine also have these tiny marks on the pushrods |

Phil’s your man for the best idea, but didn’t andy have have to sleeve one head as it went though? I seem to remember on the post there wasn’t much meat? I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

In my experience, there's loads of meat in the block, unless you've ground a load off the outside if course,

The blocks are a bit variable and the pushrod holrd at some small angle or some are ( if you were going to jig it up). I have bigger diameter lifters in my historic racer .875 i think. ( it is possible to go through and need to sleeve, but for the rubbing just file away ..... no problem and indeed better to put the mind at ease. I have seen a few of these, using OEM and aftermarket rods, i think it is related to rpm???? |
