You will need to add a god deal more support to the upper part of the column if it is not to flex a lot.

I used a Montego/Maestro steering column. It has the correct splines both ends and a single UJ just where it's needed.
Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Suzuki Swifts (the older ones) had a short section with 2 uni joints that should be about the right length. That have the same splines as the Mini. On 24th Dec, 2008 Nic said:
