My daily jeep ( 2006 l200 2.5 diesel) went to mot and came back with a red cart. Problem... the exhaust particels are to high ( not co but they mesure the no of particels) so i have pourd in some bardal okco to reduse it ( anti pollution stuff ) had a drive on the main road 120 in 4th so it makes 4200 rpm at 120 kmh now tomorrow i have to go back to the mot.
you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

So no idea what helped the most but from 6 out of 10 to 0.4 out of 10 legal limit for my jeep is 3.5 out of 10. ( what makes it a euro 6 car i guess) and max rpm with flooring it was 3800 rpm... 😉 you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Not sure what regulations you have in Belgium, but in Netherlands 2006 cars (my A4) don't need to go through this test anymore. Dazed and Confused.... |

In belgium every car get abused. Even the ones with special filters. While it is perfectly posible to put a diagnostic computer on it instead of reving the shit out of it. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

You can do forced regeneration on the dpf for most cars.

most correct way to me would be on rolls. engine under load into the normal max rev range. not free spinning way into the dangerous red zone. multiple cars who were doing no problems at all came back from mot here with damaged engine. often higher mileage cars but driven like old people drive them. and if you all the sudden go pushing them like that.... you can expect damage.

I find it a pain in the ass, in the UK you can get away with removing the exhaust, cut open the dpf and remove the inner and get the software mapped out. But we only have a visual inspection of this. But new April 2017- will have to do a test like Belgium 9n their mot's What new rules are coming in here? On 24th Oct, 2015 jonny f said:
