Pretty sure the trumpets are steel pressed into the alloy base.

And I'm near sure they're around 38mm, but it's been several yeas since I was near one.

ACT do carbon ( and alloy ) upgrades in larger diameters

Yeh, I bought one cheap for the trumpets, but that was some time ago and I doubt I still have them after the several garage clear outs I've had since. They are indeed made from steel. and I think they are as Stevie says about 38mm OD on the minor diameter.

I guess I'll go get a set and see what they look like. 38mm is about the ideal size.
