Pretty sure the trumpets are steel pressed into the alloy base.

Yeh, I bought one cheap for the trumpets, but that was some time ago and I doubt I still have them after the several garage clear outs I've had since. They are indeed made from steel. and I think they are as Stevie says about 38mm OD on the minor diameter. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
