Standard or turbo engine to convert my 998 auto to manual

Hi all.

As per title. Looking for a good running engine to drop into my 1973 998 auto. Would also be great if conversion parts can be bought too i.e sub frame, clutch master, pedal box etc.

I'm not looking for a race spec engine. This will be my daily drive mini so just something with a nice bit of poke that I can rely on to get me about. As said it doesn't have to be turbo, conversion work will be done by a friend (trained Honda & Mercedes Technician with classic mini experience), so trying to keep costs down as it looks like this is going to cost an arm and a leg (as i'm doing disc conversion on the front and replacing suspension and whole interior etc).

If anyone knows of anything please let me know.
