Hi all, as it stands i've got 2 minis on the driveway and the Mrs isnt keen on one of them shall we say!

I've got my round nose which was my first car, restored shell etc and has the 1310 turbo motor in which is a mix of Bennys and Olis engines.

The other car is my clubman estate, standard looking but has had some new wings and other bits and pieces in the past. Currently has a benross built 1098 +10thou with mg metro cam, SRE 12G202 head, lightened flywheel and usual stage 1 bits.

Now this is where it gets though. The mrs doesnt like the round nose purely because it was only intented to have 2 seats and harnesses etc. And was built when i was single/with my ex so she has no association to it. Unlike my estate which she loves because we got it together blah blah.

Long term i am looking at selling the round nose as a rolling shell and keeping the engine for the estate at a later date. Now do i just cut out the middle man and break the 1098 (not been run) and stick the turbo motor into the estate for the ultimate sleeper. And keep it as a mild turbo motor rather then balls out?

Obviously things like the drum brakes would have to go, but i do have some minisport 4 pots i got from John on here.

Opinions guys please.

Harry

To add, ive got all the bits to convert the estate to turbo would just need a return line and a fuel pump adding. And the megajolt wiring in.

that is a tough call. However the clubby is one you've had together so is a nice thing to have.

Support from family helps when you need to justify future expense and the estate is a little more practical for the family

If someone started to dictate my life to me like that they would be up the road.

I also say keep both. Unless you are absolutely stuck for the cash. Minis are going stupid money so chances are you'll never replace your round nose if you sell it.
However why not make it more mrs friendly. Put an interior and sound deadening and a stereo in it. Make it so its useable to go somewhere in and maybe she won't hate it so much. Anyway it was there before she was!!!!!!

I'd say punt the round nose with a standard lump in it and turbo the estate at some point. Only thing is no belts in the back for your little en.

Ideal world keep both as they are appreciating in value.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.
