Melbourne Australia ... not a convict

Howdy fellow mini'ers .....

I am building an inlet manifold for a 7 port head for general road use that will run { close to } port injection ... now the big question is ..........

A, inlet runner length ....... any clues for torque ?

B, volume of runners / plenum ? I have been told 2 x engine capacity so 1293 x = 2.586 cc or close to that.

What head are you using? Assuming turbo?

I made my plenum about 2 x engine capacity, I never measured it, just looked about right. Anywhere around 2l is going to work I reckon.

My brother worked out the ideal inlet length for the rpm of the engine, but they were way too long, so I just made them as long as I sensibly could within the confines of the engine bay.

I have an injector in each port and a single TB on the inlet of the plenum.

I'm mainly concerned about swirl in the runners caused by the tangential entry.
