Hi everyone

I have been very lucky and recently purchased a set of 10" x 6" spectrum split rims. I've always liked them, ever since seeing them on Miglia's in the early 90s. Never thought I'd ever own a set! *smiley*

Anyway they are currently 10" x 6" but the outer rims are a bit damaged. So as I am replacing them I thought maybe this is a good time to go wider!

I intend to se either Yokohama A008 or A032R tyres.

I'm not super keen on the stretched look for its own sake, but if there is a performance advantage then I'm interested. Maybe 10" x 6.5" is a happy middle ground.

The tyres on the 10 x 6" rims look as though a wider rim would be fine, just maybe not 7" wide?

I've run 10" x 6" revolutions with A008s and loved that setup.

The planned engine is for some serious hp! *happy*

If anyone has experience of both setups can you share your experiences?

Cheers

Nathan

lowestoft suffolk

Gone from 7's to 6's with low et to hopefully lower torque steer! Not ever noticed N/A but turbos sudden surge makes it a different animal..

Even on 6's ive had grief off some people as yokohama states on their site that 5.5 is the recomended size.. i know people run diff sizes but 'yoko say'

Zero advantage.

Stay with 10x6.

Also, what's up with the barrels? Most curb rash etc can be removed pretty easily with a file and some wet and dry.

I run 5.5 and I'm happy, but I also run a low power output for this site

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

The rims have some chucks taken out of them, but there are also a few flats on them. I assume from tyre fitters. A file wouldn't fix them. It would need welding or machining. In fact one or two outer rims are far worse than the others, but it seems a new rim would be a different pattern so not match the others.

I'm running 7x10 conversions. I'd probably drop them down to 6 or 6.5s if i was replacing them now

Ok fair enough!

Carl (force racing) can make up spectrum barrels. He did a pair of inners for me a while ago.
