So last night i hear noise... first on back dore the in garden. As i go down to look i see the light flashes on on the pave to the garage... and see 2 persons go down the pave... insneek up behind to stumble on to burglers... so i grap a rusty end of exhaust pipe standing in the entrens and shout... the come up tobme to flee ( iwas in the same way they came in so in there way out to) and i hit the first one as hard as i can with the tube... the second one hit me in the chest so i fall over and the 2 of them run off... 10 minutes later the police show up ( called them for braking and entry in my house when isaw them) first they rang my door while i said to come trough the garden! Second i get a note that says... that i need to bare in mind that when they find them i can be asked to go to court for hitting and injuries without lethal ending towards that person!!! They came into my fucking house!!! Can youbdig that!!! Now i even hope they donnot find them... a thing like that can cost me my job as a teacher... am i seeing it wrong or is this law system fucked up!!! you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Probably not the best idea to post an admission of guilt on a public forum. |

The law in this country is also a joke. What if they had a knife, or gun? You should be able to use any force you see fit, It's your property/land. Just my opinion. The law always seems to favour the criminal, forgetting about the real victim of the crime. On 18th Nov, 2014 D4VE said:

Whilst it is maybe too late now....there are two aspects to this. Your actions and how you explain those actions to police/courts. This partly explains why https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wXkI4t7nuc In the UK...them entering your house whilst a crime, does not place you under actual threat. Unless you are actually threatened ( or family etc ) then using violence against them is very very dodgy ground. Even more so if you pick something up solely with the intent of using it as a weapon against them. And all of that becomes even more important if you told the police you picked up the weapon with the intention of hitting them, prior to there actually being any threat against you. You can then be seen as the aggressor despite the circumstances. Likewise if you hit/attack them whilst they are running away etc. So be very very very careful about any statements you make to the police, always say you were in fear of you and the lives of your family and were just trying to defend yourself etc. Dont get into elaborate stories or statements as you can introduce contradictions, or mistakes that could place you in trouble from almost trivial comments. The law all over UK and Europe is a joke when it comes to real criminals, be very careful. Dont give them ammo to use against you. Anything you say will be taken down and often they will try their damnedest to twist it and use it against you ...rarely to assist you. 9.85 @ 145mph

The law always seems to favour the criminal, forgetting about the real victim of the crime. Unfortunately what if's dont carry any weight if you attack them first. If you did see that knife or gun and were in fear of your life and happened to pick something up that was lying nearby and used that to defend yourself after they threatened or attacked you...then no issue there. But the sequence of events there is all important ( and how you explain them to the police afterwards ) also....NEVER make a statement to police a short period after such an event. You will be traumatised and not thinking correctly and much easier to make poor judgement in that statement that could bite you later. Always wait at least 24-48hrs before making a statement to get your head clear about what went on. 9.85 @ 145mph

Next time i think best thing is a... let them steal what i have or... hit them good and stab myself afterwards... saing self-defence. Indeed... to protect your home from bad people you need to lie you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Fear of your life is practically the only defence if you offer violence. |

As they came at you even tho it was just to get out then that may let you off... as self defence, you always hear about poor people in this country getting done for injuring a burgular in their home... i see it as the medias way of telling what to do or say if it happens to you.. ive picked up that you let them come for you first before doing anything back.. or atleast tell the cops that On 24th Oct, 2015 jonny f said:

Can protect yourself in our country Rob. However picking up a weapon and beckoning the scroatbag over would not constitute self defence... Mind had you come downstairs and were startled by someone turning your house over, and panicked picking up a vase, or nearby 4lb lump hammer and struck out at said scroat, I reckon you would be given a bye. Not sure there has been anyone convicted, or even taken to court in the UK for this and there has been a successful prosecution. Mind there is always a first |

People stealing your property unfortunately in the legal world is not really a justification for using violence against them...even more so picking up a weapon with the sole intent of using violence against them.

Hire some good legal support, discuss whether to make an official statement and if so what to say and what not to say.

DO NOT make any statement without seeking proper legal advice about what you should or should not put in that statement.
