I'm looking for someone competent to build my Megasquirt ECU. I bought this kit a couple of years ago, but not got around to sorting it all out. It's a Megaquirt 1 v3.0, but I've bought the Megasquirt 2 daughterboard.

I would like to run EDIS 4, using the module/block thingy, ignition control, 1 wideband lambda sensor, and other little things possibly such as oil and water temp ect. I'll be sticking with carbs for now, but will probably upgrade to a T15 vauxhall diesel turbo with my 295 head in the future. Even with a custom made manifold, from Matty, it seems to have huge issues with hitting the bulkhead.

I'm located in Rainhill, Merseyside, and going to MITP 2016, so can discuss further at the show, if needed.

I'd offer but I won't have the free time until winter.

Why use EDIS though ?
With the addition of 4 extra components, an MS2 can drive a Ford wasted spark coilpack directly, no EDIS module required, which is a lot more reliable and controlable way of doing it.

I just thought it might be easier. Don't know why I bought the kit version TBH. Turning out to be a PITA.

Nothing wrong with the kit version if you are OK with soldering, in fact it gives you more flexibility to decide what basic bits you want and any extras you want compared to buying one off the shelf already built (or risking eBay).

The EDIS module, although lots of people use it, is nearly 30 years old.

A pair of ignitor chips and two resistors inside the MS2 box is easy, just three wires out to the coilpack and throw the EDIS thing away.
