So then Gents, heres a challenge for you super sleuths!

I'm after some 3.2mm or 1/8" female non-insulated blade terminals. At first glance I bet you think "easy" but it seems that the common sizes are 2.8mm, 4.8mm and 6.3mm.

The only place I've managed to find them is Digikey, and I'll buy from there if I can't find them elsewhere, its just the £12 P&P I will avoid if I can!

Link to what I've found
http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?k...ds=a111537ct-nd

I've tried the usual suspects, Vehicle Wiring Prods, Polevolt, RS, Farnell. Just wondering really if anyone knows anywhere I haven't come across.

Thanks as always
TF

Kind of, I need the non-insulated type as they fit into a plastic plug moulding.

I think the 4mm description on the last one is wrong as the most common place I've seen them is on car speakers and it does say for speakers.

Any car audio shop should have them.

Rod, I thought the same and got some speaker spades to try, they don't fit and are 2.8mm or 4.8mm for the larger type. I found the first and third links last night but don't trust either of them to be correct. Digikey list their terminals by inch sizes and do list 0.110 which equates to 2.8mm.
Like I said, you'd think it would be easy but it isn't!!
It's looking like Digikey and suck it up!!

I take your point Tom, I had always assumed car speaker ones were 1/8" as the standard Lucar spades are 1/4" so I assumed they would just be half the size.

My mistake, learn something new every day.

And Digikey certainly do state 0.125" (1/8") and 3.18 (3.2)mm for that AMP part number and I've never know Digikey to be wrong, I use them quite a lot but only when I've got an order large enough to get free postage.

But, as you say, if some places are listing car speaker ones as 1/8" and they are really 2.8mm, you can't trust the description.

Thats a reasonable call actually regards postage, I need some more general wiring consumables for my stock so may look to order enough to lose the post charge. Is it £50 spend for free post?

Yes.

Mouser is the other large USA based supplier who now have a UK website for ordering and they have reduced their minimum order for free postage to £33.

I was going to give them a try next time I have either a large order or something I want that Farnell don't stock.

i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.
