Hi all,

The Yoko A539's on the mini currently are probably due for a refresh. Though they've not covered many miles whilst the car has been worked on, I suspect they've degraded over the couple of years they've not been being actively used and are past their best.

I am looking at either the Yoko A048R or Nankang NS-2R for replacements.

I've never gone for a medium/softer compound tyre before so keen to understand real world performance or the above.

How many miles can you expect to get out of a set for spirited weekend driving and the occasional trip up and down the strip at MITP etc?

Performance in the wet? Noise etc

1500miles if your lucky, 3000miles if your gran drives you everywhere

Wet grip on the A048 softs is A rated. You try and get a tyre for your daily that's got an A rated wet grip and lasts 25k.... Not going to happen.

Who gives a fook about noise...........

id think more about how the geometry and pressure are set

Should get 3-5k from a set of a048's in medium compound.

Or less depending on driving style!

I've got the ns2r in 195/50/15 on another car and so far ive done 2500 miles including 3 track days (two were wet) on them, one pair almost needs changing, but ive just chucked them on the back instead.
