well got the car apart and think if i can get a modern turbo on my current manifolds and if gives better results than the old metro T3 then grate lets get one on the car while its apart and its easy to do

the T3 starts building at about 3200 if i could get that down a bit id change back to the 2.9FD but on the T3 its a bit much to deal with so yeah whats the modern or the one that guys go with for the 1098cc/1275cc base GT1752? i kinda dont wanna mess with ther manifolds but if its worth an early boost and more efficient flow yes please

You can pick up a Gt1752 for about £110 now adays. Chinese one of course but Ive only heard good things.

Not sure what the Availabilty is like for you in Big Spider Land :)

Bets thing i ever did was ditch the T3. There big smelly and slow to spool.

for 237 aud witch is cheep as fook but the flanges look like a mis match to the old T3 big rectangle ? i have a 2" feed so i guess i could make that go into the flange donno

also kinda looking for a modern ceramic ball bearing turbo with modern wheels that are more efficient ie closer to a 1:1 turbine pressure ratio

So you can slot the mounting holes on the GT17 so that it will install on the T3 manifold (it's not elegant but works perfectly well).

You would have to fashion a new DP though.

Should work grand on a 1098.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

That's what I did with mine. Slotted it and worked fine. Also you'll need to remount the actuator lug.

The GT17 wont give you a massive improvement in boost threshold on the 1098.

The GT1548 is the better choice.

I opened up the turbo entry on the GT1752 as well as slotting for the mounting, Took a while and I suppose the GT 1548 would need the same ?
