Hi

I'm planning on making my own leads for my megajolt as I can't find any standard ones the right length.

What would be best out of these two leads I've found on ebay?

Or

Also is it necessary to use a special crimping tool when making ignition leads?

thanks
Josh

I've not long cut down some Ford ignition leads from eurocarparts for Shaunas, and fitted old school screw on type NGK plug caps, they're technically not the correct core type for the caps but it's worked perfectly fine so far for a few months.

That looks smart carl.

What are the benefits of 7mm vs 8mm and silicone vs copper core?
Or is it not worth worrying about?

Copper core is non resistive and needs resistive caps as i fitted above (removed resistive plugs to compensate) and the carbon core (as the leads above are) which are already resistive and don't require resistive caps. But aside from that I'm not sure of the drawbacks or benefits of the different types.

7mm vs 8mm - no difference. Just choose the size that fits the plugs you intend to use

Would the copper core ones corse havoc with my megabit? Or am I just best of going with carbon string type?
