1275cc Turbo??

Hello! I am new to this whole forum thing. I am rebuilding a 1275cc that was made around 72 or 73. In the future I am interested in possible forced induction. But the question is supercharger or turbo? I am mixed feeling on both. I think of dollar signs when i think of supercharger and lag when i think of turbo. I know this is a turbo forum so i can guess eveyones suggestion, but i just need to know why. What are the advantages and disadvantages with both?

Okay here is what I have planned for the rebuild:
everything ported, pollished, and mic'd
1275cc block bored out 40 over
higher compression pistons 40 over
stock crank
stock rods
upgrade to street cam
new head (standard)
all new valves and springs
possible roller rocker arms
Not sure about carb setup yet, might go with stock twin SU's or weber
headers

With that, is a turbo set up a good idea? Is it risky? I really just need some opinions because i know some about turbos but have never installed a turbo system or worked on one.

What do you guys think?

This forum is a wealth of information....especially for finding info on questions as generic as yours.

May I kindly suggest you first spend a couple of hours reading, making notes etc. and then ask any remaining / more specific / more well informed questions?

Welcome. As suggested above definitely worth having a thorough read, especially in the beginners tech section.
For starters, high compression pistons are the complete opposite to what you want in a forced induction engine.
