Not new to minis but been a while. First car 1098 clubman then 998.. That was 25 years ago. I brought a 1275gt 23 years ago to rebuild as it was a mess then. 1976 - 1275 gt. I've kept just the bare shell for all these years. Good old dad never did need his garage space!! The time has finally come to repair and rebuild. Just brought an original metro turbo engine, in bits..

I have roughly measured the bores and all seems ok so far. Used internal calipers and micrometer. Need some advice an where to get new piston rings? Have ordered an internal mic to check correctly the bores are all good. There is residue around the top of the bore that wants cleaning. How is this best done?
