Hello all
I'm looking to run around 15 psi, maybe more or less dependant on usage in my 1330. Planning on a gt17 turbo. I've seen that avonbar do dizzys to suit higher boost levels. Are these needed, or would a metro turbo one do the job. I don't mind paying more to get more but want to keep it simple and stay with dizzy and carb for the time being
Thanks for your input,
Cheers Ben

False economy to use a dizzy. A metro turbo one will do the job, but if you're spending money on a decent engine and manifold and turbo etc, do the ignition properly.

Megajolt would be my first choice. After that there is the Aldon Amethyst that works with a dizzy to give a sudo-mapped ignition.

Just had a quick look on there website and the aldon unit looks like a good call for 200 squids..... how does it differ to the 123 dizzys where you can program the advance curve?

Mappable ignition really is the way to go. Mapped properly it will make the car much more drive able and adjust the ignition timing automatically as you turn the boost up or down. If you are spending money on the rest of the package to handle 15 pound of boost, it's false economy not doing the ignition right.

When you finally do go mappable ignition after forking out for a dizzy.. you'd kick yaself that you didnt do it from the start..

I'm looking to get the mini finished for the start of the summer so I might give aldons unit a punt. Sounds like it will do what I want at a reasonable cost and not take long to fit
Has anyone had any first hand experience with these

Cheers Ben

I've not used the Aldon, but I spoke to them while they were developing it and it's well thought out.

You can't quite get the full benefits of a trigger wheel and coil pack, but it's a simple installation.

Megajolt or NoDiz, tbh I wouldn't fit another dizzy ever again.

You seem apprehensive about fitting one, don't be, its a piece of piss and has been done time and time again.
