hi all
well i've been on the forum for a while now and haven't got a project thread going.
I bought a clubman from a member on here last year and spent a months semi restoring it as it was going to be my daily, i fitted a 6 point safety device cage done the mk1 hinge conversion and etc
but i'm now starting again as im hoping im going to race it instead of my daily so thought id do a project thread
its a 1972 leyland had a metal flip front fitted, adjustable arm tie rods and etc when i bought it

What race series are you planning on entering?

It's sometimes easier to start with a race car when someone has done all the hard work.

Things like the GRP front, for example, may not fit in the regs.

No exact race series ,far to early to say
And I know where your coming from
I don't do easy also plus from painting and do bodywork to modern cars all the while makes a change working on these ,plus I told my family I won't be buying another mini

It's definitely not too early. In fact, it's the first thing to do.

If you start building it with no regs it will be wrong and no use for racing.

Pick the series and build your car for it. And then pester will, he really knows his stuff. Does anybody have a list of the series' that minis are eligible for?

As it happens there was an A-series race at the end of last season open to all A-series cars pre '66.

http://maximummini.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/...i-variants.html

So although the car in this thread is not eligible, the only rules are age and tyres (plus MSA safety stuff).

Other than that there's the obvious, Miglias, historics, Se7ens and Mighty minis.

Lexan is just a trade name for Polycarbonate. Widely available.
