Maybe someone has a clue

My wifes Cooper has a leaking aircon and it turns out that the first low speed stage of the cooling fan is dead as well (and probably has been since new.. so they managed to not fix that under warranty )

Does anyone know if there is a replacement part that does not fail after three years like this unit. The main cost is fitting it as you have to dismantle half the car to get to it so I rather do it once.

if your talking about putting the front end in service mode its much easier than you would be led to believe. I would just fit another OE one, probably a duffer from the factory. If you are sure its the fan Assy thats at fault and the car hasnt had a wee bump and chewed some wiring

It might be the stage one and stage two speed resistor on the fan unit itself my one has gone on
Y r53 on stage one so stage two just kicks in its a £50 fix on ebay
