hi.

i had an alu intake from mini spares... had to file it almost to paper thickness to get the throtle lever pas it. even then i had to file the lever down so it would not rub. it was eighter this or put a 16 mm spacer between it... now... what would be the best one to use that i do not have to fie down? metro turbo ones seem hard to get....

anyone has a brand or name or link to one... minispares minisport minispeed they all look the same and are not cheap over here so do want the right one.

greets

I use a metro NA inlet, only thing that fits with a Mattie exhaust manifold.

Whatever fits the best. The MG metro one is a good choice (as above).

16mm spacer seems a lot, but unless you have no space at the back you can't have too many spacer in.

How about using a 5mm spacer and filing less of the manifold?

It had a standard spacer. Problem with more spacers or thicker spacer was that the carb sat up against the bonnet. Cant understand why they would make such a crap inlet.
Thing is if i look at picks of them alu inlets on the website of minisport or spares they look the same so make me afraid to buy one.

Actually I think they are the same.

What throttle connection/lever do you have?

Some are more intrusive than others.

HIFs were fitted other things than just Minis or Metros - I had one with a throttle linkage that opened the "wong way" i.e. was pulled downwards to open which is now going to be fitted to a mate's Harley.

I'd tinker with the linkage before filing the heck out of the manifold.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

I have stubby turbo copies if you are interested ? I have had them cast and are slightly shorter than a metro turbo one.

if you want some dimensions let me know.

Hey,

I sell for $100AU , which works out about 46GBP At the moment. Let me know if you want the angle of the carburetor flange.

The head flange is 12mm thick on the machined part.

That section is only 5mm , but you would have the throttle plate and a acetal spacer. I can make spacers of any width.

Throttle plate is 2mm , so that is 7mm + whatever spacer you need to clear the linkage.

Likage sticks out 30 mm so would be 23 mm spacer. Or i would need another linkage

Yeah maybe easiest , I'll measure a turbo linkage , it's definitely much more compact
