I'm not too sure where I should be posting this but I've been lucky enough (right place right time!) to be picked to test out the first Smith center digital speedo! Awesome news for anyone who's keeping the original look

Neither did I to be honest, my friend asked me to pop to their club meet on Sunday because they were after a volunteer car and it went from there! They are a local company who do all the smiths stuff like the 'in flight' stuff for sale on Demon Tweeks.
It's all LED (as you'd expect) can programme for whatever size wheels you've got, measure your trip distance, no more wavey davey needle either haha! If anyone is going to the NEC classic show next weekend they will have one to show. Caerbont Automotive is the company name, they don't seem to have a lot out there atm which explains why nobody knows anything about them! They've made digital vacuum and air temp gauges so far, with any luck they will continue to bring all of the original Smiths style gauges into this century!

I'm really excited to get it in the car! When I was asked I was like yessssss about time! I did look at their other digital speedos though back when mine stopped working but I didn't really see any I fancied plus they didn't have the fuel gauge.

I don't really think that's what they are going for to be honest, if it was I wouldn't really be interested because you can already buy gauges like that! I'm not sure if you really could incorporate all of the extra features and keep the look of the gauge anyway unless you'd be happy looking at it all on the tiny little screen they've added which shows your milage/trip. It's just a mordern more refined version of the original I think, it's a big part of my interior so I don't want anything super obvious that it's not an original. You can also programme it for any fuel sender so anyone with engine conversions can use it too :)

Looks cool, I'm not sure about people not knowing anything about them Cai gauges are very popular on the kit car scene.

Yeah they have said they will be looking into doing the 130mph if there's a demand for it! Hopefully this goes off well and they do decide to do the rest, I already know that my oil/temp gauge is going to look awful next to two gauges with LEDs :(. When I asked what made them decide to do it and one of the reasons was 'because people do engine conversions' I thought 90mph is a bit low for some hahaha.

Yeah 90 is low!!! Ive got GT clocks that goes up to 120 n i have to rely on the satnav to tell me what im doing after that as most of the time my needles stuck bouncing off max

Only time mine has ever been over 90 is on the rolling road haha! Well, knowing Carl it's been past it under his control! I was actually going to buy a new speedo after Christmas because mines broke so this coming about was awesome timing! I'm hoping the fuel gauge is better than the original too, mines been a right pain since changing the tank last year even though we've changed the sender and the voltage stabaliser, so fingers crossed!
