Hi

I'm just figuring out what I need for my oil cooler and turbo feed.

Should I be using teflon braided hose for these applications? Or is NON teflon ok to use?

Now for my second question of the evening.... Can I take the oil feed for the turbo from a sandwich plate between the engine block and the oil filter housing? I have one for my oil temperature gauge and wondered if I could use it for the turbo instead?

Thanks
Josh

I dont think you NEED to use PTFE hose. Best check the alternative is good quality oil resistant stuff tho.

As for the sandwich plate i suspect its take off possibly comes from the unfiltered side?? If so best avoided for obvious reasons.

Teflon generally has a higher temp rating, so is better for the turbo oil feed. Either that or metal or proper hydraulic type hose.

And yes you could use that takeoff for the turbo.

Ok think I'll just teflon for both to be on the safe side.
Is that oil filtered from the sandwich plate?

Thanks

a take off between the block and filterhousing is fine,

a take off between the housing and the oil dilter isnt finltered.

Ok that's great.

Would this work for a turbo feed?

There is better options of thread type. I can't find 5/8th unf to - 4 an adapter. As that's what the sandwich plate/spacer is tapped out at.

That would work yes, but why? You can just take the feed out of the oil pressure take off hole as standard and save a few quid??

What one slater?
I run a oil pressure gauge and don't want to lose my oil light.

if you use the filter head from DSN and install with an oil cooler, then you will be reading the oil temp after the cooler not before. Not ideal.

The Dsn one would be OK I mean. The takeoff is on the filtered side.

You can just use a t-peice or double banjo or somthing like that if you wanted to keep oil pressure senders and whatnot. It doesn't really matter either way. I have my oil light switch T'd on the back of the gauge in the dash.

I'm using a mocal sandwich stat plate for the oil cooler Jim. It screws on between the filter and the filter housing.
