Have you looked into the haynes roadster theres talk on their forum of a single seater desiged by chris gibbs to follow the book build your own sportscar on a budget. There will be others doing them on there or the kit car forum.

yeah ive read the bike engined book, was really good for chassis construction and suspension geometry.
