I'm getting my crank polished and balanced so obviously need the flywheel in its finished state to do this.

The turbo verto clutch / flywheel I have are probably original so recommendations please on what to replace?
A) new turbo clutch and plate - maybe not man enough as aiming for 130nanas min

B) HD cover and AP rally plate - should cope, plus cheapest option but unsure of quality / types from minisport /spares, although med list a cover 20% uprated from turbo spec. Recommendations? Do the 190mm plates fit early 180mm verto?

C) lightened flywheel and HD clutch with AP plate - med again list but pricey. Do you guys run these, if so how do you find them as I've been told to stick with std flywheel?

If I go with b) I've got a donor clutch for rts should it not cope or giggle button is turned up in the future, what do you reckon

I'm sure all verto's will take a 190mm plate,

I'd deffo go with the RTS, al long as what you have is an AP verto.

its also well worth lengthening the verto arm a bit with a strong RTS,

I'd personally go straight for the RTS. I'm running a standard turbo plate and its been fine so far with 15psi

Thanks guys, seems to be a big tolerance on what some std turbo clutches can handle, guess it depends on the spring thickness.

I think I'll get the crank balancing done with std clutch and flywheel (may lighten it a little) then build an rts when I'm ready and get that rebalanced

Any idea how long you can extend the clutch arm?

Use a metro cable clutch arm and cut it to suit the pushrod.

That's what I've done and seen done on here.

basically this ^^

I pulled the rubber out and cut a slit downt the cable clutch arm and put a couple of bearings in the end,

Robert chopped the end off of a spare std verto arm, and filed/ fettled it to be bolted onto another std verto arm.

you can go about 1/3 longer IMO

Tuctuc, I was thinking the same thing but read the RTS build thread several times last night and IMO would be a shame to have to pull the clutch / engine for something so simple, especially if there's a fairly good chance it's needed. I started my RTS build this morning and it's as simple as it looks and now all but assembled (just waiting for the bolts).

The Metro arm option sound good, but I need it done ASAP so just went at it with a MIG and angle grinder. It's extended a third (about 18mm). Does it look right? I suppose I have to tweak the slave cylinder mount, or will the pushrod still work at an angle?

*Clapping*

that looks great!

yeah, you'll have to frig around with the mount, I stuck some washers under mine, dont forget to support the rear of the slave too, or it'll flex

That looks very nice Phil!

What bolts did you go for; tapping the plate or straight through and nut on the other side?
