Somewhere around Swindon

Whats the difference between the wet and dry twin bolt subframes? and if there is a difference can a hydrolastic one be converted safely to run doughnuts?

Never done it myself but as far as I know they can be converted quite easily and safely, there are some locating lugs on the wet frame that hold the displacer in place, these need removing or twating out of the way. The rubber donut will then sit in as normal

This is what i found out when i was playing with them

Wet,, have 5/16 studs and there is no spacer between the bulkhead and the frame, if you turn it upside down you will see where the hydrolastic fits in there is some tabs that you need to beand back out of the way for the doughnuts to fit in, very easy done i did it with some mole grips.

Dry,,

3/8 unf studs, you will need an 8mm spacer for this one, easy to fit what you need in there.

Wet front subframes can be run with aftermarket coil springs without desecrating them by bending the tabs. Saves rendering them unusable by those of us who like hydro.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.
