I've got my car running a driving with the help of you guys,

I've done the t piece trick and I can see my car is leaning off a lot at higher revs,

I'm only running 5psi and when at low revs it is around 12afr but leans off to 16 at higher rpm,

The carb has the standard needle in bbd, should I just buy another? What would be a richer needle for top end? Or try and file the needle down myself?

Thanks

BDD is standard.
BCA is a well rich needle.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

My advise would be to get it on a reputable RR with an operator that knows what they are doing . You can always ask for them to show you how to adjust / file the needle if your not sure .

Swansea boyo!

The BDD is fine in mine with an ever so slight tweak.

They don't die, they just get faster!

BDD should be bob on at 5psi.

I think BDL is a bit richer again than BDD but as others have said BDD should be ball park at least. I've been doing some filing recently and found turbo tels thread really handy if you go that way:

BDL is leaner than the BDD until stations 13 where it becomes a gnats cock richer than the BDD.

It's a standard MG Metro needle I believe.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Glasgow

try one of the SU needle comparison sites; I found it quite useful when deciding what to try

Hmmm, would it be a carb problem if it's going lean at high boost? Or just down to the spec, I will be booking it in for a rr early next year as I won't be using it again from early September.

I've got a BCA to go in mine, better to be on the rich side. I did get it running with a BDD but haven't driven it yet, so couldn't say what AFRs I'm getting.

We ran fine with it on 8psi and it's still fine on 10.
