Need a little help solving what is causing this noise on my V50. This started after I went over a speed bump which had a bastard pothole straight after it.

I have replaced both drop links, both top mounts and fitted coilovers. Double checked everything and nothing's broken or loose. The noise will only happen over uneven road or cats eyes in the video, no noise on normal roads or even over speed bumps which is strange.

Has it got the ally or steel lower arms? The steel arms on certain models can split quite easy

Forgot to mention i replaced both front bottom arms due to the rear bush being shot.

Sounds a bit too metallic to be this but it's worth a shot before spending more money!

First check the brake pads and the shims, and also the sliding pins aswell, 9if any are slightly too loose they can rattle a lot.

Otherwise it's worth removing and greasing (or replace) the ARB bushes

Cheers mate, yeah my next thing on the list to replace is the ARB bushes but they are a right nightmare to get to. I think i have to drop the subframe to get at them!

Along with this metallic noise in the video in the cabin you can hear a knock up front. Found out i can make the metallic noise appear if i go into a high gear at low speed which sets the noise off.

South Staffs

Could be axle ping if they anything like the S60/V70

Remove the wheel centre cap and check that the drive shaft bolt is tight/missing

strut top bearings and mounts, shockabsorbers themselfs, r Anti roll bar droplinks or d-bushings, or steering rack support bushings (internal to rack) can all cause this sorta noise and not be imediately obvious during the usual wiggle tests.

The only thing i could feel any knocking in was if somebody turned the steering left to right quickly, i could feel this in the steering tie rod arm.

Anyone got a lift i can borrow? haha
