Lately ive been dwelling on minis/cars that ive owned or missed out on owning.. it frustrates me seeing the prices of said vehicles now *frown*

So.. i thought id make a funny thread as a therapy session as i know loads of you have said the same thing... so lets get it all out here and share with each other haha...

I'll start it off-

Mini VAN - I brought it off a mechanic where i done my work experience in high school for £50!!! The floor was rotten and scared me at the time but if it was now it wouldnt phase me at all!, sadly when my parents seperated n we had to move i had to choose which minis could come with us n the van wasnt one of them cos of the rust so i GAVE it to a friend *frown* i still see that friend but ive never wanted to ask what happened to it cos he probably scrapped it cos i didnt see it again..

1965 mk1 super deluxe- offered to me for £50 at the same time as above ^ but then mk1's just werent no-where near as cool so i passed :-S

1967 mk1 - i bidded on it for a friend, won for £100.. my friend sold the interior to abroad for £500, picked a few more bits then offered me the rolling shell for free... at the time didnt think it was anything special so turned it down.. wtf was i thinking?!

1988 metro GTA- had a turbo motor in it so i purchased it just for that!! The shell and interior was like NEW! No rust and never been welded! Came with so much spares!! Nicked the motor and didnt have space to store it so sold it for £88 *surprised*

3 x mini pick up projects and a 1967 mk1 with mot - for £1900!!!!!! Didnt have the space.. (me bashing my head against the wall!!!)

1965 MOKE- was a rotten shell but who cares?!? Theres nothing to them! Had i.d.. could of been mine for £250!! But my gf at the time *indifferent* wanted a mini so i ended up getting her one instead of getting the moke.. ahhhhhhh!!!!

Well.... that frustrated me thinking about them and im sure ive probably forgot some too but its helped getting that all out... so i advise people do the same so we can help each other out through this.. rofl *happy*

My first car was a black mini park lane... a proper piece of shite that I brought off a friend... had to ring the old man at least once a week to come and rescue me as it wouldn't start, had an earthing problem that no one could fathom! Had to carry a spare battery with me everywhere I went...
I've owned a couple since but they weren't around for long so didn't mean much to me (apart from the one I'm doing now)...

Anyway, got the old mans sierra sapphire as a hand-me-down after the mini so sold it to some lads for a pittance after advertising it in 'Loot'! I'd love to know where it is now, scrapped probably?? Was always getting stopped by the old bill in it, massive wheels, tinted windows lol... what a pup!!!

A mate of mine was looking at getting back into minis, and I remember him telling me about how he sold a mini for £20 a pizza. And the prices have gone up so much.

Swansea boyo!

My friend got hell of a bargain last weekend. His Dad built a midas back in the 70s and sold it on to a local guy who used it for a few years and has stored it since 85 or something like that. He bought it back for £400 with all the original stuff including the cooper engine his Dad put in there back in the 70s!

They don't die, they just get faster!

The one I miss the most, for some reason, is my old SD1 vitesse. I think I need to just drive one again; that should be enough to remind me that they are good, but not great... But I stilllllllll want one LOL

Still have my first mini. Then bought a mk2 deluxe for 100 euro ( aqtualy i bought some parts and he needed that one gone) dound the original papers in the sill!!! I also had a opel calibra turbo ( vauxhall in uk?) But that one got smached by a passing car that didn't have the room to pass me. Some years ago my wife bought me a birthday present... that turned out to be a mk 1 mini traveller... had a mk2 cooper s to that i sold due needing money for the house. Trying to found that one back for 5 years now.

'88 911 Club Sport - E550 WDA Only 50 odd made......

Had it for 2 years sold it back to the official Porsche dealership for the same money I paid for it thinking I got a good deal.

Mine was one of the first 10 which had no sound deadening or underseal and about another 25 kg lighter still.

Seen a few over advertised at 100k+ now, not sure if they actually sell at these sort of prices though

Happy days *angry*

-69 Fiat 850 Sport Coupe, -86 205 GTI and -88 405 mi16 are the ones I miss. Not because they are worth that much money, but finding a good 205 or 405 are very hard, at least here in Norway :(

I didn't let my first one get away but I do regret weighing in some of the 'Donor' cars over the years, especially when they're harder to get hold of now.

Probably feel guiltiest about the very good condition MG Metro Turbo that I ripped apart for mine!
