I'm looking for an estate car that I can use to lug things around in, put the dog in and use to drive daily to work (12 miles on country roads). I want it to still be a fun car to use (I'm currently in the mini).

V70 T5, just make sure the front suspension has been replaced or factor it in at that price bracket |

I think every car has issues with front suspension the roads are all crap now I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

now I'm not a BMW lover but you'd get a good 3 series touring for that sort of cash or a 1.8T A4 (assume the bigger engines may be a bit thirsty) 1.8 can map up well |

Get a 190 if you get a 1.8t as they have a bigger turbo. Don't expect more than 220 from a map though. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

The 3l turbo diesel 3 series tourers are really good engines, really powerful and good on fuel. A mate of mine has had two and forever giving it stick whilst putting loads of miles on for work. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

There's a very good reason why the 330 petrol only has 100k on it and that will be the amount of fuel it will use! Think very carefully is my advice!

I love my mondeo, but not nearly as much as my old Subaru legacy spec b. If you're happy with less than 30mpg they're great.

Tom makes a good shout on the 130 PD Quattro. The 1.9 is an easy engine to drive quickly and our gerts 1.8t 190 quattro sticks like shit to a blanket If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |
