I know its been asked before but does anybody now the exact angle of the taper reamer needed to cut the correct tapers into the arms ?

I need to make custom arms for a space frame Mini but would still like to use the original ball joints as they last a lot longer than Rose Joints.

One helpfull chap has said its a No2 Plumbers Reamer of 6.8 degrees ?

Does anybody now any different

Any help appreciated

Phil

There is a guy on another forum selling a tapered reamer for this exact job, he quotes it as a "1.5" over a foot tapered reamer"

Morse is ~3 degrees i think. Certainly much shallower than a ball joint.

I seriously doubt it!
