What's the general concensus on these guys? Which ones do I want to avoid, and what's the one to go for?

After one that's pretty solid with no play in it, that isn't going to come off in my hands!

I've got one of the nrg ones that was part of the group buy a couple of years back. Haven't had it on the car, but seems nice and solid in my hands and locks off well.

As above, good and solid, but as yet untested.

Nrg not on mine but on craigs mini, felt extreemly solid and i like the way you just plonk it on and turn it untill it locks
Mine is from rs motorsport or something with splines... again locates nice and securely but a pain to get on and to get straight

Lifeline. Just ordered one this evening!

I have been hunting for a decent one, and both good reviews and even the great man fastcarl led me to lifeline.

Will post some pics when it turns up if you would like and give you a quick review?

Warwick.

Lifeline do black anodise Group-N (bolt to a boss type rather than weld on)
Bit more subtle for the tuning market rather than motorsport where you require contrast bright colours.

leeds/wakefield.

I initially bought a cheap one form mc Gills, but far too much slop in the splines for a fwd car, so bought lifeline and you really do get what you pay for,so if anyone want a cheap shite QR boss you can have it for 1/2 priceinto the server funds but you may well end up in the hedges.

Which lifeline boss did you guys go for?

This is FORD country, on a quiet day you can hear Vauxhalls rusting.

I've got the early version of the Snapoff boss with key lock which is a but of a pain to be honest. Its compact and no slop in it. I turned down an old Mountney boss, made an adapter and the whole stack is as tall as a standard boss. I just didn't like the flat dish steering wheel with an excessively long boss.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
