I'm trying to identify what clutch cover i've got. I thought it was a double grey however looking at it tonight, it looks like the secondhand one i got of Iain many moons ago when he broke the mig. I've checked the add but it didn't mention the spec although he did mention single grey in other older posts. Unfortunately he isn't about much to ask.

The cover has a single wide grey paint stripe on the spring. I'm wondering if it is as simple as it is marked with 2 stripes if it is double? Can anyone comment?

Ta muchly

Rob

Has anyone got a picture of a double grey? I've never seen one..

I seem to recall all the double grey's I've seen had like a funny scalloped edge on the spring whereas the grey was just a smooth spring.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

i found there was a difference in spring thickness from the half dozen i have around i can measure them again in its of interest but i assume the thicker ones are the heavy ones altho thinking about it the drill press and valve spring pressure tester would be interesting to see what it takes to compress them

ether way the spring pressure means nothing if the flywheel and backing plate are not set up correctly

Isn't this because it was worn?

Nope, both fresh out the box from Minispares, and quite obviously intentional.

Not a great picture but can you see what I mean on this pic?

Yup, but I cannot see the colour markings.

Bloody AP, why couldn't they just use Red, or yellow? Triple blue anyone? *happy*
