Northern Ireland

Phil at Extra EFI ?

UK or abroad, or any specific application ?

Matt Cramer at DIYAutotune does a lot of pnp kits now although he's in the US

Or I think that Trigger Wheels seller in the UK does kits too

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Somewhere around Swindon

I was set on Megasquirt but now dont see the point, there is now just simply to much info out there imo fo a self build and setup, for me megasquirt has gone from a simple self build to a confusing mess.

Personally i think that buying a system in to learn ecu mapping is the best way, it also makes no sense to buy a megasquirt and then find a mapper you are far better off finding a good mapper and looking at what they map, i am sure you will get a better and cheaper product going this way.

I think that MegaSquirt is great if you are seriously interested in electronics and making it yourself. If you just want an ECU to run an engine so you can drive the car then there are probably more simple alternatives out there. Also as mentioned above rightly or wrongly many mappers are dubious of MegaSquirt or even will refuse to use it, whereas if you turn up with one of th big names in DIY built cars/amateur ECU's, Emerald, DTA, Omex, any mapper worth bothering with will have no problem.
