Rainhill, Merseyside.

I'm looking for a company with experience, who can build my megasquirt 2 v3.0 ECU. I would like to run the car on EDIS using the module, with a wideband lambda sensor and controller, probably PLX, with a couple of sensors such as two air temp sensors, water temp, oil pressure, throttle position sensor and possibly a knocktek unit. I got a quote from someone last year, but must have deleted the e-mail by mistake.

I might be looking for a good quality sensor bracket, and possibly a trigger wheel if the one currently on the car, a Sierra trigger wheel with MPI Pulley, is wrong.

I'm planning on converting my 998 to turbo, so would like the two air temp sensors for the intercooler for example.

Anyone companies around the Merseyside area with experience of fitting EDIS to turbo minis ect. Might be easier to send the engine with the head removed to set TDC accurately, and get it done properly. *oh well*

Any rough quotes, advise or messages telling me not to turbo are 998 welcome. *hehe!*

Thanks
Anthony

I dont do MS builds for customers as it would cost you more in labour to have me assemble a MS than it would cost to just go out and buy an assembled one or a link G4 or whatever. Im surprised you got a quote :) What your asking is quite involved may be best to see how much of the work you can do yourself, itll obv help you in the long run as you upgrade or have issues in the future.

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

as above,

the MS's arnt hard to solder, its all wire ended components, get a velleman kit from maplins, and if you can put that together you should be ok.

for setting TDC accuratly... make a dead stop plug up, knock the ceramic out of an old spark plug, and bolt a bolt through it, with the plug installed turn the engine with a spanner til it locks, then mark the crank pully & block with tipex, then tyrn it back wil it locks the otherway, mark the block again, half way between the two marks is TDC.

As above,

The mid range MS units can be bought as DIY or fully assembled, often to specific specifications.

I'm at a bit of a loss to understand why you bought a kit if you weren't expecting to have to build it.

As Joe says, it's not hard but you do have to understand exactly how you want it to work (ie, inputs/outputs) before you start to assemble it, and you have to be reasonably competent with a soldering iron.

I presume from the word "kit" you mean a V3.0 board.

Get yourself registered on the MS-Extra forrms and do a bit of reading there.

And. as Denis says, I doubt anyone would build a kit for you that you purchased as the kits are so variable in what you can/want to do. I'm not sure who would open themselves to the sort of risk that might come from just getting a bag of bits and expecting someone else to "make it work" without a very clear specification.

ie, I wouldn't even be wasting my time with EDIS on an MS2 as it can fire the coilpack direct if built right.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???
