Afternoon guys

got my engine heading off the to machine shop in 2 weeks time. Now as title says

Who does best Centre main strap?

and are the bolts up to scratch these days?

Carl made mine and machined the centre cap plus supplied some high quality bolts

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

If your heading to the machine shop. Get yourself the cast 4 bolt main cap and get it lined bored/honed.

Don't do them for the 998 engine :(

what spec is your engine? does it actually need it?

Not sure about the 998 but there is a question over ids need on low reving 1275. Having said that, it wax the first mod i did!

I know 998 is more free reving then a 1275 so reason i was gonna do it

Mini Spares one I fitted last was fine. Correct bolts supplied with it. Wasn't worth making one for cost. One thing I did do was surface grind the bottom just to ensure it was flat. They are not machined there normally.

Just be aware that you can't use a 1275 main strap on a 998 without slotting it for the thrust bearing tabs.

For your run of the mill turbo engine I'm now in the don't bother camp. I don't think it's needed unless you are constantly whizzing mega rpm.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Once you get the internals balanced and lightened they spin up quick. I was easily hitting 7.5k in mine without realising.

This engine wont be turbo'd maybe supercharged in the future but no turbo

all internals being balanced and lightened

Paul is there much point in a 1275 one?

Also note the 1275 bolt spacing is different.

Elmer racing can supply a good one for 998

Props gonna order one from swiftune as ordering few other bits off em then

Any difference between swiftune one and minispares expect for double the price for swift
