well its worth every shilling just for the goosed crank tail end .............. lol

That's cheap compared to some of them on ebay. Saw 1 for £1500 and you couldn't see half of it for all the crud on it

How much is a standard metro turbo lump worth then? Thinkin about sellin my spares but no idea what to ask

The actual engine isn't worth vastly more than a normal NA engine as far as I'm concerned there's barely any difference. Turbo gubbins a few hundred more. Not much of it is much use if you build to today's standards.

Ok ill have a stab at it and correct me if im wrong..

Inlet and carb 150ish?
Manifold and turbo 100ish?
Head 100ish?
bottom half engine and gearbox 400ish?

I think that is well overpriced! I looked on ebay last year and they were going for around 450, that's what I got mine for with 2 sets of turbos/manifolds!

In 2007 I got one for free!

I got a complete one with turbo and carb, plus a dellorto carb for ₤100 in 2011, may of been lucky with that one though

Prices are on the up. I think they are ridiculous but I'm happy to let some of my tat appreciate in value!

I once paid £40 for a metro with 40k on the clock that was in reasonable condition just to gut it for the engine. Andy & I have also gutted a few for bargain prices.

I bought a mainly complete metro turbo car out of a breakers yard for £65. In errrrr, 2000 ish.....

prices are all on the rise.....long gone are the days when we used to throw standard engines in the skip as we could easily go and get another MG metro unit for £50 out the scrappy

Im sort of glad I wasn't around in them times as I think it would drive me mad the prices that you have to pay nowadays

Paid 400 for a complete metro turbo in 2006 with all the bells and whistles!! Pulled the engine out and sold the car for 80quid!!! Ive gutted it ever since!! It was mint!!
