Hi folks,

I have a Mini.
You can see some of it under the 28 minutes build.
(need to update with the link)

Started up as a N/A 998cc in a '92 shell.

Long story short, I'm due to go racing in 55 days with a good friend for a friendly contest on track.


He has a 998 in a '84 shell and he is the one who gave me the bug for Minis.
His car is a 998 stage 1 too but might get an MG Metro cam along the way.


I still have quite a to do list to deal with and as ever, two boys, a wife and commited work to deal with ...


My car does have fitted :
brake booster
all round braided brake hose
minifins drums
all adjustable front (not really adjusted ...)
stage 1 kit with a freeflow (temperature wrapped) and RC40 side exit
HS4 flowed carb








the head had the inlet rounded to better match the "one size fits all" stage 1 inlet from Minispares ...
1275 low comp electronic dizzy (yes, I know I should change it, I'm working on it)


I am in the process of :
removing the mechanical fan (the car being '92, it has electric fan in the wing), add electric fan switch and clean up the cooling circuit


fancy up my standard air box (bigger inlet, flowed internals)



fitting ED9 CRX front seats
fit a steering wheel lowering kit
source, overhaul and fit a standard 998 dizzy


I might consider :
fit my MD256 cam
fit my 12G940 small valve head (would be kind of cheating though ...)

Before the track day, we have a pretty demanding hill power wise that we plan to give a try (matching posted speed limit would already be quite an achievement ...)

We both have A589 tires on 12" fitted.

Sounds like fun.

I'd be tempted to keep the mechanical fan.

If I am not going for the head or cam, I will monitor temps until the deadline and see what I choose.
Looking for all bhp available if not going for the obvious...
