Had very small repair underneath, as the side return seamed to have a small crack.

Weighs about 650g, is 0.5mm thick, with 1mm returns and hinge points.

I was going to use it on mine with the front lip trimmed off. But I don't think it will strong enough without it.

£150

This is Prepreg cured in an autoclave isn't it? Not you regular wet lay up stuff.

I am guessing that means it's more for go than show . As in its stronger and lighter rather than looks nice and shiney etc etc

Not cured in an autoclave, just under vacuum in a very simple home made oven (wooden box and a couple of hair driers!)

Steve is far too modest

CF was developed decades ago for aerospace / military, it was primarily developed for it's light weight, high stiffness to weight and heat resistance

If you want a bonnet that has these characteristics then you buy this one...

If you something that mimics the appearance of CF (but is most likely more shiny) without any of the benefits and is little more than glass fibre made to look like CF you buy the one you mentioned.

It just depends what you want, show or go...

Edit: Apologies, this is your for sale thread......... I can delete my post if you prefer

Thanks all . I have never really understood CF in much detail other than the "real carbon fiber " joke that was flying about a while ago !

No need to apologise Spencer! Looks like I'm going to have to rework this into a mk1 for my car then before I start the bootlids!

For me, it's only because of the lip. I would have snapped it up at even the original price.

Because I have run out of paint.

This would be 1.6kg lighter than my current fibreglass bonnet.

Flatten it out into a clubman one and I'll take it!
