hi all.

Question.
1: what would be the advantage be of a electric pump over a mechanical pump on a standard na engine? ( 1100cc running a hif 38)

i want to build the mk 1 as original as possible but since my wife wil run it most of the time i want it to be as reliable as possible to. and smal things like that i can hide.

2: would 8 mm ( 6 inside) fuel line give a problem ( since the tank take off and inlet of carb are smaller)

3: am i seeing / reading and googling correct that a mk1 single lead brake system did not have a brake pressure regulator at all?
would this give a problem if i convert it from drum to disk?

greets

1: Not much.
2: Use 3/16" or 5mm for both.
3: Didn't cause a problem when I did that on my old clubman.

1: In case of the mechanical pump failure you may get your engine flooded with fuel which can lead to serious engine damage. That's one advantage I can see.

That engine flood i had once. Long time ago never had it since.

3/16 od ? Same size as brake pipe? Or 3/16 id?

3 ok superb. Was worried about the rears locking up.
